The benefit of having a faster 2GHz memory clock is offset by a slower core clock and DDR3 doesn't make a difference here as the DDR2 results are thoroughly intermingled. The results are also considerably faster than the Phenom II X4 940 as well, which is surprising but somewhat understandable because it runs a slower 1.8GHz memory core clock.

Again, DDR3 does nothing really for the performance as DDR2 and DDR3 results fall within the same margin and the biggest benefit is memory core frequency in the CPU, rather than the memory subsystem itself.

Strangely DDR2's copy performance exceeds DDR3 by a considerable margin - both the Phenom X4 II AM2+ and AM3 DDR2 numbers are significantly higher.

Because the DDR2 latency is much lower for a respecitvely smaller drop in frequency, DDR2 performance is better for 1,066MHz C5 rather than 1,333MHz at C7. In that respect, the DDR3 latency does very little over older DDR2 numbers, however it's still better than Intel's old front side bus model for current Core 2 CPUs.
